About Pei-Ciao: the scientist
I started my scientific journey as a marine scientist but quickly discovered that I have a greater passion for molecular and cellular biology. I have worked in diverse fields, from the molecular evolution of marine organisms to disease modeling in inner ear hair cells derived from stem cells. Over years, I have grown strong passion and interests in stem cell biology and inner ear research. My current career trajectory is the development and regeneration of hair cells in the inner ear using stem cell-derived organoid systems. Ultimately, I will apply such knowledge to develop robust systems for tissue and cell regeneration.
